According to the United Nations, rising life expectancy would lead to a doubling of people in the world who are at least 60 years of age by 2050, and then a tripling of that age group fifty years after that. A variety of issues related to healthcare can be the listed: keeping populations healthy, healthcare technology and shifting demographics and lifestyles. Major advances have been made in increasing life expectancy and reducing some of the prevalent killers associated with infant and maternal mortality.
