Hubungan Tret Personaliti Dengan Tahap Pencapaian Akademik Guru Praperkhidmatan
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between personality traits with academic achievement level of pre-service teachers at Universiti Selangor (Unisel). This study involved 70 of pre-service teachers Diploma in Education (Preschool study) intake of August 2016. The data were collected through the Neuroticism Extraversion Openness (NEO) Personality Inventory (PI) -Revised (R) questionnaire. Descriptive analysis of frequency and percentage used for distribution analysis. Meanwhile, Chi Square analysis is used to examine the correlation between personality traits with academic achievement level of pre-service teachers. The data weuroticism. For Neuroticism traits are at the lowest level between the five traits. The findings show that there is no significant correlation between personality trait with academic achievement level of Unisel's preservice teacher. Hopefully, through this study that the administration of educational institutions such as Unisel and kindergarten should consider using personality tests such as NEO-PI-R, to identify the tret personality of pre-service teachers in the process of recruiting new teachers.
