Universities face challenges in managing hostel registrations, especially with concerns about infectious diseases like COVID-19. Traditional, physical registration processes can lead to large gatherings and increased risk of infection. This project addresses the need for a more efficient and safer method of hostel registration. This project aims to investigateĀ the necessity of an online hostel registration system at the Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), to design and develop a user-friendly, web-based application to avoid congestion during registration and test the system to ensure it functions correctly before and after its release. The system was developed using the Agile methodology to allow for rapid identification and resolution of issues. Data was collected through interviews with experts in the field. The system's design incorporates functionalities such as online form submission and the ability to choose a house. HTML, PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL were used in the development of the web-based system. The developed system includes features for students to register for hostels and for hostel management to update, view, and delete hostel lists. Testing was conducted throughout the development process, with user feedback gathered to ensure the system meets user requirements. The system was tested by developers and users to ensure it was free of errors and functioned as expected. An online hostel registration system can help universities manage students more effectively by anticipating the number of students needing accommodation and making necessary preparations. Implementing such a system can also reduce the risk of infection by avoiding large gatherings during registration. The system aims to provide a user-friendly experience for both students and hostel management
